Leslie and Vinny’s Alice in Wonderland themed wedding at the Chateau Briand in Long Island definitely felt like a trip down the rabbit hole. Even though they planned all this from their home across the country in Seattle they were able to leave no detail out, including Leslie’s mad hatter hat. So happy I was asked to capture their special day.

Adventurous spirits Melanie and Dave met while they were both teaching in Alaska. Seven years later, on the morning of their wedding, Dave handcrafted two huge, beautiful snowflake lightboxes as a nod to their courtship in the snowy state. It was a beautiful early April evening in Gowanus, Brooklyn and fun times were had at the The Green Building .

So it’s true that April does bring showers – right on cue the rain started on the first of the month! But a little rain didn’t stop Sherianne and Brandon from taking portraits on the promenade in Brooklyn Heights as we made our way to reBar in DUMBO. These two have know each other since high school and they really know how to party – Fun times were had by all! Thanks to Kelly Kollar for joining me.

Carrie and Peter’s intimate wedding at City Hall Restaurant in Tribeca was just lovely. The couple combined the very cool underground space (the ceiling is literally the underbelly of the city sidewalks) with a romantic, touching program that included a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. Singer/songwriter Jason Liebman performed throughout the evening and strangely enough we graduated high school with each other – such a small world! Thanks to Kelly Kollar for assisting.

Jillian and Tim got married in Wading River out on Long Island. Lucky for us the chilly weather held out and we took photos on the beautiful beach without catching a cold. Tim’s family and friends traveled from England to celebrate their big day and Jillian’s friends performed their own cheerleading routine at the reception - it was tons of fun!

Back in the day when I was a camp counselor upstate, Sara was my camper. I hadn’t seen her in years when she got in touch about photographing her wedding, but she looks exactly the same and is just as sweet as she was as a kid. Justin’s great and they seem to be a perfect match. The skyline and street art in Greenpoint was a nice backdrop for their engagement shoot as well as a the greenery in Prospect Park. Can’t wait till their wedding in August!

Early morning shoots are the best – especially on a beautiful morning in April. The lovely couple, Isil and Bill, were super cute. We walked the highline and all around the west village (trying to avoid trash bags since it was garbage pickup day – who knew?!). Sad I’m unable to travel to Turkey for their wedding in September, but I’m sure it’s going to be spectacular.

I love Shaan! He’s such a sweet, loving baby and a fabulous model! I really enjoyed taking photos of him and his parents in their home. Hopefully I’ll be photographing more little ones in the future.

You know a shoot’s going to be fun when it starts with photographing a couple and their good looking dog. I’m now so in love with Stevie! She’s Margot and Brian’s newest addition to the family and she’s sweet as pie. As much as I’ve missed snow this winter it’s nice to be able to take a stroll around Williamsburg on Sunday morning with a really cool couple and not freeze our butts off.
