Annie + Emory
Brooklyn Winery Wedding

One year ago today, Annie and Emory tied the knot at the Brooklyn Winery on the first day of June—Pride Month—and it was beyond fabulous! For all of you that don’t know, Pride celebrations are the product the Stonewall riots, a series of spontaneous, violent demonstrations in Greenwich Village, NYC, by members of the LGBTQ+ community who were angry, frustrated, and exhausted by the discrimination and hatred they faced. We owe our LGBTQ+ civil rights to those folks that refused to be silenced, who stood up, fought back and organized for justice. Today, in cities across the US, people are coming together to demand an end to the hatred and discrimination that POC and black Americans face. This Pride month we stand in unity, sorrow, and outrage with all those standing up to racism and fighting injustice.

And now, for the frilly stuff. We’re obsessed with this love party put on by Modern Rebel + Co. They’re one of our faves to work with for so many reasons, but their focus on social justice in the wedding industry is #1. The Brooklyn Winery is always gorgeous, and the florals by Molly Oliver elevate the space so beautifully. She pulled island inspiration to represent Emory’s beloved home of Hawaii. And finally, you can learn a whole lot about this gorgeous couple themselves in their article from The Cut, where they share wonderful insight on love, wedding planning, and pride and queerness.
