After Brigid and Caitlin’s engagement shoot, I had a feeling this wedding was going to be wild. I was right, in the most wonderful way. These two are so crazy in love, and they threw one phenomenal party! Their Roxbury Barn wedding was at the end of August – a gorgeous time in the Catskills! Every time I get to shoot a wedding there, I’m reminded that it’s one of the most beautiful venues in the world. If you’re looking for a perfect blend of rustic and contemporary cool, it’s the perfect spot.
Hanging out with Brigid and Caitlin felt more like hanging out with friends, so we had a ton of fun during portraits around the grounds. Their ceremony, officiated by a close friend of the couple, was so sweet and heartfelt that both me and Elle were tearing up! The pine forest where they held their ceremony is one of the most breathtaking spots in the Hudson Valley, so of course, we had to photograph the newlyweds after they tied the knot.
Their open-air cocktail hour was followed by a stroll down the hill to the barn for the reception. None of us could help but laugh as Brigid and Caitlin’s siblings teased and proclaimed their love for the couple during speeches. And of course, we can’t forget the special guest; I guess Hillary Clinton has been spending a lot of time in the Hudson Valley lately! She joined them on the dancefloor for busting moves and group sing-alongs. The night was finished off with cake and sweets, including ring pops!
We had so much fun, it was hard to leave at the end of the night. We’ve been so excited to share these photos, since it was such a gorgeous wedding – it was even featured in Wedding Vortex! I can’t wait to get back to the Roxbury Barn again, and I’m so grateful I got to spend the day there with this amazing couple.
