Zelie + Josh
Studio Spaces, London, U.K. Wedding

I love a London wedding so when Zelie and Josh asked me to photograph their special day last October, I immediately said yes! Having known Zelie for a while, I knew it would be a glamorous, colorful affair, just like her brother Sam and sister-in-law Helen’s wedding that I photographed the previous year.

These world travelers had recently returned from living in Hong Kong and their wedding was full of Chinese themed details; paper lanterns, mahjong escort cards, and even Chinese takeout party favors! Dahlias, roses, and twinkle lights turned their industrial warehouse venue, Studio Spaces in East London, into a wonderland. I am still obsessed with the lush floral wall they created as a backdrop for their ceremony and we had so much fun taking portraits in the old cobbled streets of the London Docklands.

The couple kicked off their wedding reception with champagne in a super fun room filled with mirror balls and metallic and bubblegum-colored helium balloons.  Delicious dinner followed, with hilarious speeches and a genuine dragon dance! And then, of course, it was time for dancing. Projections of the Hong Kong streets and red paper lanterns gave the dance floor a really special ambiance. That and an abundance of confetti made for a memorable end to the night. Thanks to Zelie and Josh for letting me a part of their incredible day!
