Rachel and Matt’s wedding high above Manhattan at Studio 450 was absolutely stunning. The flowers and décor were classic with a fun contemporary twist and the lights of the city made for a magical backdrop. They incorporated some really cool traditions into their ceremony, like the badeken (groom veils the bride) and circling each other under the chuppah. And their horah got kinda out of control! I’ve known Rachel since she was a little kid and it was an honor to photograph her wedding. It was a beautiful day for a lovely couple. I wish them many years of happiness.

EVGENIYA + ANATOLY’S ENGAGEMENT SHOOT

These two high school sweethearts are getting married in their hometown of Moscow, Russia but wanted to show their guests some photos of them in NYC, where they are living for a couple of years. We spent some time in their Harlem neighborhood playing with cute cats and eating hot dogs. Then it was off to upper central park for some sweet shots in the conservatory and at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir. I know that Evgeniya and Anatoly are going to have a fantastic wedding and I wish them every happiness!

Although there were only a few days left of winter, a light snowfall graced Rachel and Matt’s wedding at The Garrison, which made for some magical photos and an impromptu snow ball fight. :) These two are so fun and the wedding really reflected that. A highlight was the dancing, which began with an amazing choreographed first dance routine with their wedding party and friends and continued all night. Congrats again to Rachel and Matt!

Rachel and Chris are getting married out of town, but wanted to take some photos in the city where they fell in love. And in love they are… within the first five minutes of meeting them I could tell how head over heels they are for each other. I had such a fun time shooting and hanging out with this super sweet couple in Central Park. I know their wedding is going to be amazing!

Jina and Bill’s wedding was totally unique and such a blast! These two drew inspiration from the Comic-Cons they go to together and included handmade robot cake toppers and an action figure vending machine as favors. Plus they brought out their Darth Vadar helmet and lightsabers, which made me very happy! Everything was just perfect for this fun, stylish, sweet couple!

For some reason I seem to get back-to-back gigs at the Brooklyn Winery, which is very happy making since it’s one of my favorite venues. This time one of my shoots was Abby and Bill’s not so traditional wedding. I loved that Abby wore a black Alexander McQueen dress that showed off her beautiful back tattoo and Bill wore cufflinks made from Abby’s grandmas old earrings – so cool! Later in the evening one of Bill’s freinds did some pretty impressive magic tricks. All in all an awesome day for an awesome couple – I wish them so much happiness!

Even though a winter storm passed through New York City the night before their dig day, both Genny and Morio were calm and collected; they were so excited to get married that they just rolled with the punches. A few hours before their ceremony the snow stopped and the sun came out and it turned into a spectacular day for a really special couple!

I had such a great time with Danielle and Gary during at their engagement shoot that I knew their wedding was going to be a blast and they did not disappoint! Even with snow on the ground and below freezing temperatures these two (and their wedding party) braved the cold to get some great city shots. The ceremony and reception were held at the Angel Orensanz Foundation, which is such a beautiful venue and was the perfect backdrop for their winter wedding. A big congratulations to Danielle and Gary!

Lauren and Sydney came to New York on their seven year anniversary to get hitched in a state where same sex marriage is legal. Although it was a pretty chilly day these two are from Pittsburgh so they have a thicker skin and we were able to be out and about for most of our time together (I have to say I was very thankful for the indoor locations like the carousel and the train to keep us warm for a bit!) One day we’ll live in a country where everyone has equal rights, but until then I feel honored to be a part of these wonderful elopements.

Margot and Brian’s wedding was an excellent way to start the year. They had a really sweet and relaxed day, with close friends officiating the ceremony. So stylish yet simple. There were fun details like fake tattoos, a candy bar and delicious doughnuts for dessert. The only thing that was missing was their adorable pup Stevie (who we met at their engagement shoot last year.) These two are so lovely and we wish them all the luck in the world.
